Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we process when you use doc.corpus.music and on what legal basis. We keep data collection to a minimum.

Controller

Sofilab GmbH, represented by the Managing Director Mathis Nitschke Akademiestr. 3, 80799 Munich, Germany Email: info@sofilab.art

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not legally required to do so.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), and erasure (Art. 17) of your personal data;
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20);
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21);
  • Withdraw consent at any time, with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).

Hosting and server log files

This site is hosted on our own server located in Germany. When you access the site, the web server automatically records technical data in log files:

  • IP address,
  • browser type and version,
  • operating system,
  • referrer URL,
  • date and time of the request.

This data is necessary to deliver the site, ensure stability and security, and is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Logs are kept only briefly and are not merged with other data sources.

The documentation assistant (chat)

The site offers an AI assistant that answers questions about the CORPUS documentation. When you send a message:

  • Your input is transmitted to our backend and to a language model hosted on our own infrastructure. It is not shared with any third-party AI provider.
  • For reliability and abuse prevention, the assistant records operational metadata about each request (e.g. a shortened form of the query, timing, status).
  • To assure and improve the quality of the documentation, we may store the full conversation (your questions and the generated answers) for up to 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted. Conversations are grouped by a random identifier generated in your browser; they are not linked to your name or account.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the documentation (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Please do not enter personal data or confidential information into the assistant.

Analytics (Matomo)

We use Matomo, a self-hosted web analytics tool running on our own server (matomo.sofilab.art), to understand how the documentation is used. Matomo processes access data with a shortened (anonymized) IP address. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, Matomo runs in cookieless mode and no analytics cookies are set. We do not use this data to identify you individually. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a needs-based design of our offering (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and local storage

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Depending on your settings, the following may be stored:

  • First-party analytics cookies set by Matomo (only if you have not enabled "Do Not Track").
  • Browser local storage to remember your preferences — such as the light/dark theme, the chat panel size, and the chat language. This information stays in your browser and is not transmitted to us.

This site links to external resources (e.g. corpus.music and journal.corpus.music). When you follow such a link, the respective provider's privacy policy applies. We have no control over their data processing.

Fonts and assets

All fonts, icons, scripts, and other static assets are served from our own domain. No third-party content delivery networks or font loaders are used.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or legal requirements. The current version always applies.
