Changelog

The documentation describes CORPUS as it is. This page records how it got there: policy changes, new mechanisms, and notable revisions of these docs, newest first.

August 2026 — The production bonus is retired

The style-relative quality assessment no longer awards points (previously up to 50). The reading itself stays and grows: it describes how a mix sits against the reference practice of its style, openly and without a score. The reason is principled, not technical: the right yardstick depends on the producer's intention, and intention cannot be measured. A system that guesses intention punishes originals. Scores now assemble from two sources: Technical Quality and Novelty.

August 2026 — Novelty measures the whole track

Novelty Estimation compares the full mix as one point on the corpus map and pays the percentile point for point, replacing the earlier per-aspect originality axes. Each score is protected for three years after ingest, then decays toward a permanent floor of 30 percent. Novelty Estimation, Temporal Dynamics.

August 2026 — The docs describe what is measured, never how

Scoring pages state the principles, the dimensions, and the promises a contributor can hold CORPUS to. The measurement mechanics stay unpublished: publishing them would hand out a gaming manual and close options that should stay open.

August 2026 — White paper marked as historical

The white paper predates the scoring system as built. It stays online as a record of the founding argument while a revision is prepared; the docs are the current description. White Paper.

July 2026 — Evaluation docs split into dedicated pages

Novelty Estimation and the style-relative quality assessment each received a page of their own, with the shared three-axis story (quantity, quality, novelty) anchoring them.

June 2026 — Docs restructured along the map

The documentation moved to five chapters following the CORPUS data-and-value-flow map, from The CORPUS Idea to The Ecosystem. The homepage gained "Ask the docs", an assistant answering in 36 languages.

June 2026 — Generative Output Bonus documented

Royalty documentation added the Generative Output Bonus and the per-round example figures. How Royalties Flow.
